"The Seven Dials Mystery" could be regarded as a sequel of another title: "The Secret of Chimneys". Why? The story, again develops in Chimneys, a Victorian mansion property of Lord Caterham, the father of Eileen Caterham alias Bundle who can't stand George Lomax. This three characters also appeared in "The Secret of Chimneys".
But while the "The Secret..." was about international politics, this one was about an international crime organisation. This kind of story was quite typical in this Christie's period (late 20's) in which the world political situation was quite stirred between the two wars. As an example you can take Poirot's "The Big Four".
This time, as well as in "The Secret..." the Superintendent Battle is the chief inspector from Scotland Yard in charge of the investigation. But, don't be too much self-reliant, as as you will see sooner or later, nothing, once again, nothing is what it seems to be.
